Our class will recognize a Star Student every week. This is a great way to get to know the boys and girls in our classroom, as well as learning many of the Social Studies standards. When your child is the Star Student, he or she will be asked to participate in an activity each day. You will be notified that your child will be the Star Student a week before. The activities are listed below.
Monday- Your child will return the All About Me page to share with the class. Your child may also bring in pictures of themselves and your family to share. This day will help our class get to know your child better!

Tuesday- Your child will return the My Home and My Family page to share with the class. Your child will be learning mapping standards while he or she draws a picture of your home. Be sure to include lots of details such as trees, ponds, gardens, etc. Also, your child will draw your family. At the bottom, please complete the sentence: "My mom's job is _____; My dad's job is _____." We will be determining if these jobs are a service or if they provide a good. All of these activities are a way to review our Social Studies curriculum in Kindergarten.

Wednesday- Please write a letter or poem about your child. Tell us why your child is special, a funny story about them, an example of how caring they are, etc. What a great opportunity to let your child know just how much you love and adore them!
Thursday- Favorite book day! Have your child bring in his or her favorite book to share with the class! Friday- Show and Share Day! This day is very similar to show-and-tell, but it has a twist! Students will bring in something to share in a brown paper bag with three clues about their object. Students will guess what is hidden, and your child will share their toy and explain why it's special to them. |
